Gearhart Aussies commit to proper nutrition and a healthy diet for our puppies, young adolescents and adults, working dogs and seniors.  We feed and are distributors of Flint River Ranch, an all natural dog food; and supplement all dogs with NuVet Plus, a canine vitamin .  In addition, our dogs receive a chewable 500mg Vitamin C daily.  It is our belief that this combination keeps our dogs healthy and  is the basis of sound, “allergy free”, and beautifully coated aussies.

     Puppies begin at four weeks of age eating a “gruel” consisting of Eagle Brand condensed milk and blended kibble.  From six to ten weeks of age, the canned milk is replaced with kibble, mixed with a teaspoon of strained carrots, green beans or sweet potatoes (Gerber baby food) and a half NuVet Plus daily chewable vitamin tablet.  At ten weeks, the pups eat strictly kibble, with an occasional teaspoon of chicken broth or a tablespoon of rice. A full NuVet Plus vitamin tablet and a chewable 500mg Vitamin C is given daily.

    For treats from Flint River Ranch, we suggest Jubilee Wafers or Fish & Chips; or fresh vegetables such as carrots or broccoli stems. These are healthy, palatable treats.  Dogs love them and they are packed with the best natural ingredients.
